The Maryland Department of Natural Resources has created the Veterans Recreational Outreach Program in an effort provide our state’s veterans with unique opportunities to work, learn and recreate in the rich natural habitats of Maryland, including our Chesapeake Bay, coastal waters, inland estuaries and parkland. As part of this program, we are coordinating recreational fishing expeditions for veterans and their families at no cost to the participants. Participants will spend the day fishing on a boat chartered specifically for our veterans. All equipment is provided; we ask only that veterans bring appropriate amenities (clothing, sunscreen, bottled water, bag lunch, Dramamine, etc.) for a day on the water.
For more information, please contact Dennis Robinson, Veterans Programs Coordinator at DNR, at (410) 260-8312, or at DRobinson@dnr.state.md.us.
