The Link-Up between wounded veterans and donors nationwide

Warriors in Transition, Wounded Warriors and quailified Veterans alike are encouraged to reply to the posts in the 'Link-Ups' discussion forum area to interact with those willing to help you get outdoors. You can write all you like on the reply or simply request to speak with the volunteer/donor privately.
Once you've gone on your hunting for fishing trip, post up your experiences whether it's a photo, good story, video or simple thanks to your donor.
Pass on the good news in your Facebook, Twitter or other message and spread the word about our mission. It's hard enough finding a place to hunt, TheLink-Up proposes to make it easier on you.

We will be adding more activities very soon but wanted to get started with these for now.

Shoot straight,

As IL Hero Hunts grows we are finding that volunteers are abundant. If anyone is looking for assistance or volunteers in/around Central Illinois please let me know. You can e-mail me at j.freaner@comcast.net.
Same here! If anyone needs transportation throughout the Maryland/Virginia/Pennsylvania areas.. to or from Walter Reed, Quantico, Fort Meade, etc.. let me know! I'd be more than willing to donate my car and time. My dad, Brian Rains, has a great location in Carroll County Maryland for all kinds of outdoor activities.. goose hunting, fishing, target shooting, camping, campfires :-) .. you name it. I'm hoping to host a cookout later this summer for everyone - all are welcome! Contact me anytime.

I just wanted to say that this is hands down the greatest organization ever. I was disabled by an IED/RPG in Iraq in 2005, and I've been waiting for years to return to the great outdoors. With what I'm seeing I feel like it's possible. I had an amazing relationship with the wild growing up, and even though my parents didn't have alot of money they did what they could for me and my sister, and that was taking us out hunting and fishing. Thanks for everything that y'all do and I look forward to getting linked up with some good opportunities to meet other vets like me. Having a trophy is nice, but having new buddies to share this life after military is even better. Thanks again.

I hope the new year is treating everyone well. I spoke with a guy out west about elk hunting on public land, if anyone has more information such as where to go, what states have the best incentives for liscensing a non resident vet and any other information about striking out into the wild open would be helpful. Thanks and have a wonderful day.
you know buddy I sure as will, I bought my youngest daughter her first fishin pole and we have a few packs of hot dogs and we're fixin to head up to the lake and do some fishin and have a good time as a family. Have a good weekend and drive safe bud.
