Re: Hunter Safety requirement, the 1st part of the course can be done online, with a field day to complete. Cost $8.00 to $10.00. See MD. DNR site for locations. If you have taken a Hunter Safety course in your home state, a document to that effect will be honored in MD. Contact me and lets go hunting!

www.dnr.maryland.gov/wildlife--(410) 260-8596--pg18 - Who May Hunt Without A License- A person serving in the U.S. Armed Forces who has a service-connected disability and possesses a valid military i.d. while hunting. This applies to hunting on private property only. If such a person wants to hunt on public land, they must first acquire a Md. hunting license. ( In both cases they must purchase a state and federal migratory game bird stamp-$24.00 for both if they intend to hunt waterfowl). The Hunter Education and Safety Requirement applies to all individuals hunting in Md., even if they are exempt from the requirement to purchase a hunting license. (see page 11). Any nonresident serving in the U.S. Armed Forces whose duty station is in Md. must purchase a Resident Hunting License before hunting.( 24.50 + stamps).

New Md. law passed and will take effect in Oct. This law allows for vets with service related injuries to attain free hunting and fishing license in most cases. I will post the details as able. Feel free to contact me for update.
